“Yes” For Illinois

AFF Chicago Roundtable, September 3, 2008: The Illinois Constitutional Convention, a right or wrong way for Illinois - Panelists Bruno Behrend (Vote “Yes”), Jeff Mays (Keep the status quo for 20 more years), and moderator Ralf Sieffe.

AFF Chicago is hosting its first roundtable of the fall on September 3 at the Sullivan’s (just north of the Loop) at 415 N. Dearborn St. in Chicago. Join roundtable panelists Bruno Behrend, Jeff Mays, and moderator Ralf Seiffe for a discussion about the choice Illinois voters will make this fall that will determine whether we scrap and re-write our state constitution, or keep the one we have.

What are the sections or clauses in our current constitutional that can be improved? What are the dangers of a constitutional convention? Who will write the new constitution should voters approve the referendum? Would a new constitution promote an individual’s liberty in Illinois?

Answers to these and many more questions will be answered when the panelists give a 5-7 minute introduction to their positions and Mr. Ralf Sieffe opens the floor to your questions and comments.
